Monday's challenge: Reward yourself after completing an important task.

.by MeYou Health on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 7:20am.Set out to accomplish a task you’ve been putting off, and then give yourself a small reward when the task is completed. You might treat yourself to a coffee break or indulge in reading your favorite blog. The reward can be small, but allow yourself some time to relax once your goal is accomplished.

Why it Matters:

Finding the balance between productivity and relaxation can reduce your stress and help you feel more motivated to move on to the next task. While there's usually no easy way around difficult or mundane tasks -- unless you can afford to have someone do them for you, of course -- you may be able to tackle them successfully knowing you can reward yourself modestly after the task is completed.

Fun Fact:

Procrastination is on the rise. In 1978, only about five percent of the American public thought of themselves as chronic procrastinators. Now, more than 20 percent say they are.
